Things that I care

In my life exists only a few things that I care, but that things are very important to me for example: the politic, this is a very important thing to me.

I can accept that the world can work in a different politic way of how i would like it to be, but I can´t to accept to live my life under the decision of the world and is for that reason that the first politic space that I use is my body. My body, my life, my time, my decisions are my more important politics acts. Maybe is not a big decision but is my decision, my form to acting in the world. Because I believe we need other way to live, or maybe see the world a different way. While I don’t have answers about that, I think we need search a different possibility, without waiting to take control over the lives of others, because what we really need is take the control of our lives. Is for that reason that I like the empowered people, curious people, creative people or just different people, who are looking for a solution for the problems of the world. Because, for me this is the greatest act of love to the world.

My dream job when I was a child.

When I was a child I wanted travel and meet other places and work everywhere, I didn't have a dream work for my future because I believed that we could have any work wherever we wanted. Before to study psychology I was studying theater because I love to “act in the world”, move my body in the world but I needed more knowledge so I would understand the cognitive process of the art, then when I was in “Bachillerato” I take the decision to study psychology.

Now I´m studying cognitive process in different subject and I use my knowledge of actress for understand the process of learning and remember how was my own learning in the art, that has been my experience in the university until now, maybe I would work in research but the truth I would like to travel, meet other places and people. 

The polyhedron and the sea

Today I am talking about my favorite poem, when my ideas are not clear I need to take a break, I need to go to the nature, I need to breathe, but some time I only need to read this poem. His name is “the polyhedron and the sea” by Eduardo Anguita.

I can’t write all the poem but I select some verse, the first is:

 “A solid body but invisible

A compact meeting of faraway”

For me, This verse explain the problem about de the investigation, because we can reduce the problem a infinitive part, but the body is invisible, we see a meeting of part, and this part are a different nature, but we can´t see all the body in the reductionist research … because the body is incommensurable.

“In other way, the water is more, more than the two of them

And is more ductile than the curved and liquid

And isn’t true that you care more about the water than the fluid, the curved and the liquid?”

This is my favorite part, because in this verse I remember what I am looking for. So, some time I lose the north of my investigation or my study formation… but Anguita always makes me remember “that” with this poem. 

Mathematical Reasoning

Today I am talk about my favorite subjects for this semester; its name is “mathematical reasoning”. This subject is a practice in the Center for Advanced Research in Education (CIAE). We do a multidisciplinary working with different carriers; my classmates are from Beauchef (engineers), FACSO (social area), physics, educators and mathematics.

First we do a planning for a mathematics class, and then we go to some school to do that class to children. In the planning we need discuss about mathematic didactics and this discussion is very complicated because we have a different language in our carriers, but this problem is the funny part of the subject because we learn to communicate between different disciplines in function of a common goal and that is the “Children’s learning”.

We have a mandatory content, it is the “study of mathematical reasoning”, this content depends on the needs of the planning for the class, for example I’m studying about “enactive mathematics” like my second content but my classmates are studying other contents.  

Pedagogy of the oppresses

Paulo Freire, was a Latin America teacher very important for Psychology. He proposed the critical pedagogy. His importance nowadays is connected to the fact that he created a pedagogy based in Latin America and its process of domination. He has many books, but I like two, first “pedagogy of the oppresses” (pedagogía del oprimido) and second “pedagogy of the question”(pedagogía de la pregunta). I found out about him when I participated in a community school and there, the teachers talked about him. And my process to know about him, was a practical process, because the community school practiced that pedagogy. It was a very educational experience.

About the career…

I use this theory for my pedagogy work or in my life, because is not only a relation between the students and teachers, he proposed a way of relating with the others and the humanity.

I would like to recommend him because it is important to study our processes like Latin Americans. And from here write our history, theory, arts or political propose. Because we are a particular continent with a particular history, and we need to know: What is to be Latin American?

Enaction,

There are many ideas or words difficult to understand, maybe because we don’t have the experience necessary to think about that. But the experience is not an information or representation about the ideas. The experience is a enaction into the world.

For example, the concept of “dialectics” is a very complex concept. Because we can know  what is the dialectic, but the dialectics is a  moving concept,  is a continuous process. To understand the dialectics process we need anchoring the concept in our body or experience and then put it in motion.

In physical exercise there is an exercise called “sticks". In this exercise, the actors are thrown a stick. And this sticks can´t touch the floor, but at the same time we need to demand our fellows more difficulty. But if the sticks touch the floor, the play is over.

In this exercise, we can experience enactively, the opposition, but this opposition we need each other to exist. In this metaphor we can see the dialectic process and maybe we can think other characteristics about the concept… in an enactive process.  

My grandmother Maria.

Is uncomfortable talk about she... but I need talk.

The last week, she called me to talk and insisted me to go  and visit her. I say " Mari is late maybe tomorrow?" and She said "fine, but tomorrow in the morning...".  My grand mother, never insisted me to go... but this day was different...

I took the picture in her home, in the last party in her home. I like the picture because she wanted to look pretty. And she's smiling to me...

My grandmother died last week , one day after I visited her. She talked to me about the their fears but maybe she was preparing me to confront my feelings or maybe... I don´t know what that conversation means. But is my favourite conversation, maybe some time later, it can now…

Jonas

I can talk about the poor's immigration, their problems or the discrimination, because in Chile this is an reality. But two weeks ago, I met Jonas ...

Jonas is living in this apocalyptic world ... full of dirt and screams, immersed in this world everyone wants to rescue him...

He's 9 years old, in the back of the room trying to learn as quickly as possible, he doesn't have time, he began to do sum in another language... I asked him Do you speak French? and he just gave the dry comment: Not really, I speak Creole to do the sum, but I speak French to, because in Haiti we speak creole and the second league is French. I learnt to speak Spanish one year ago.
After that, i talk with him about the future, what he can do for the world.... because "the world " thinks that he is a child who should be rescued ... but that day I realized that the world must be rescued from us so that children like him , can deliver all the potential they have and we need.

The Violin.

I like the music, but the music is not a piece of technology so, a can talk about the violin.  I got a violin when I was 15 years old. But, I couldn’t never play… because I didn’t know how to.  And I couldn’t take class because they were expensive.  

Now, I use the violin in the university once a week, some weeks, more days. I don´t know why I like it, maybe for the sound or for the exercise because when I practice I am calm.   If it wouldn´t exist, life would be very sad. 

    My full name is Alexandra Yañez and everybody calls me Ale. But this is not important, because we don't now nothing about us. What is my favorite animal?, What is my favorite flavor? or music? I like my life, and i'm very happy, because a don't have one favorite animal, i like animals... that is all. 

But I know what I don't like:

I don't like the stupid rules (not all rules, only the stupid ones)... sometimes the world has many stupid rules, and all people respect those rules.. because... I don't know.... 
I don't like boring people...or the people who don't live life... 

In fact, if you read this text to the end... is very probably that we aren't friends... because... this text is not a funny text...  well... honesty it's a joke. But now, maybe you know more about me. 


I live in Santiago, i like the art, the cognitive process, I have many friends and a beautiful family, I like to eat, dancing, talking and now the world.
